**WHAT IS IT** The extremely long, yet informative, title really says it all; UPROCK is producing and curating a collective of professional, international artists of all mediums to artistically respond to the global pandemic we are experiencing. We believe this is a unique moment in our history to create a piece of work that documents the human and artistic experience specific to this crisis. The final work will be a strategic tapestry of macro and micro-collaborations between artists of different fields and locations. It’s a group of artists from around the world joining forces to create something through the unprecedented space we will be operating in over the next few months. It is meant to be a time capsule of collaborative work that explores aspects of the current human experience; emotional responses (sadness, anger, fear, hope, joy), thoughts towards a sustainable post-crisis future, the access and utilization of technology, opinions of our governments, the depression of isolation, humanity as one organism, life and death itself, spiritual and religious responses; the possibilities are endless. This will be a work that we created during a time of isolation and disease so that those present may be moved through our work and that those in the future will be able to understand how the international artistic community felt during this time. **WHO IS IT FOR?** This is an online residency designed for mid-career or higher, professional artists. We use the term “artist” very liberally; musicians to architects, magicians to potters, painters to animators, drag queens to editors, engineers to screenwriters, DJs to poets, dance crews to chefs, fashion designers to poets; all creatives are welcome to apply. If the idea of remotely collaborating with international artists of different fields excites you, then this is for you! Many professional artists are finding that for the first time in a long time, they don’t have anything to work on. Others are eager to create to take their mind off of things. Many are isolated and/or in quarantine. This really allows us a unique opportunity to create an extremely high-caliber, collaborative work. **Applications AND portfolios must be received by March 31st** at 6PM Eastern Standard Time, in order to be considered.
