Court métrage funded by Vertigo STARTS Residencies exhibits at Imagine Science Films Festival

Janus is a video installation which retraces part of the questioning that the artist Stéfane Perraud set up during the exchanges that he had during the STARTS residency and that took place between Prof. André Xuereb from the University of Malta and Prof.Rémy Braive from CN2 / CNRS of Saclay in France.

Both scientists are part of the European HOT (Hybrid optomechanical technologies) project, which aims to lay the foundations for a new generation of devices that connect or contain multiple nanoscale platforms in a single "hybrid" system. More specifically, Rémy Braive's laboratory works around optomechanical systems, which will lay the foundation for a new generation of devices that connect or contain several nanoscale platforms in a single ‘hybrid’ system. The residency was a unique experience for collaboration between artists and scientists, giving the opportunity to Stéfane Perraud to increase his depth and knowledge about the subject and create Janus!

The court-metrage will be presented at the Imagine science films festival on Tuesday, October 20. The festival will show 28 programs in 8 days

Janus will be exhibited under the Virtual Reality session:
How does technology impact our everyday lives? How dependent are we on it? What role will it play in our future society? What has it helped us understand and where is the line drawn between reality and fiction? These six films navigate our dynamics with technology as well as the boundaries that are set or broken.
