This session is the third session in a series of five aimed at introducing the STARTS Collaboration Toolkit.

Find Collaboration Toolkit at STARTS Library
In this session, In4Art co-founder Lija Groenewoud van Vliet and artist Isaac Monté will take you behind the scenes of Art-Driven Innovation and show you what it’s based on and how it works in practice.
Art-Driven Innovation is a method developed by In4Art to generate ideas and include the insights from artistic experiments on technological and social domains to achieve more responsible innovations. It is about combing breakthrough technologies, sustainable development goals and artworks, thereby creating a new playing field for open innovation and strategic decisions. It is based on the view that economic and social progress should be regenerative and distributive to contribute towards a more green or care path for innovation.
The aim of these sessions and discussion is to improve the current version of the toolkit and gather feedback from our community, all to be included in a final version.
The next sessions will take place in January 2021 and will be focusing on methodologies for increasing impact diferent methodologies for collaboration and practical tools to get off to a good start.

ISAAC MONTÉ, artist. Fascinated by societal sustainability, Isaac Monté (BE) is interested in unusual, new materials and how they can be manipulated. He sees himself as a pioneer who, by means of combining technology, art and science, shows how art can contribute to a strategy of sustainable development. Since graduating in 2013 he has focused on understanding, controlling, and manipulating unusual materials. In projects such as Filter Factory (2013) and Leek Packaging (2017), he has explored the possibilities of using waste streams to create new opportunities. Since 2015 he has been combining waste streams such as overdue foods with new, promising technologies in synthetic biology. This resulted in projects like The Art of Deception and The Meat Project. Within his work he combines different media, using techniques and media tools either to experiment and document or to strengthen the message with video and visual images. His work has been shown in a variety of museums, galleries and exhibitions in Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Italy, USA, Austria, Hungary, United Arabian Emirates, China, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany. His work is part of several private collections in Europe and the USA. "The Meat Project" is part of the permanent collection of The Centre Pompidou, Paris. |
